Who would you say was the biggest name to guest star on Homicide? In its
own time it was probably a toss-up between Lily Tomlin and Robin
Williams, or maybe one of the better-known political, etc. public
figures such as mayors and actual police figures.

I'd say that, since then, the biggest names who were less well-known at
the time were Marcia Gay Harden ("Doll's Eyes") and Jake Gyllenhaal
(Robin's son in "Bop Gun" and director's son in real life for that
episode).

Then again, cast regular Melissa Leo is coming up extremely well in
recent movie roles. Anyone see Frozen River?
